Since long time i've wanted to write about the US-Paintress Suzan Frecon. 2008 I saw her exhibition - form, color, illumination - in Bern. I was very impressed by her clear forms and beautiful colors. Yesterday, while cleaning up my bookshelves I found my two precious and valued Suzan Frecon Monographs. And again, her paintings left a deep impact even through the books. The overall-impression of that unbelievable exhibition came up again: the quiet calmness of the forms and the vivid and vibrant power of her colors.
Thank you for reading it and i'm happy to hear your comments.

Thank you for introducing me to this artist-I hadn't heard of her before, and I love what I see here! now I am going to order one of her books.
AntwortenLöschenI have two, one is "form, color, illumination" from 2008 and "suzan frecon - paintings 2006-2010" and i can't decide which one would be the better one. i love them both. maybe the second, the more recent one.
i also recommend her watercolours... i personally find them especially intriguing, better: i really love them. they are truely living, breathing, expanding. they aren't prepaparations for the oils, they have their owns existence. look, if possible, to the publication of the Vienna secession (1994) or the "drawing painting", published in 2002 by the Drawing Center New York. Wonderfull work.
AntwortenLöschenThank you for showing her pictures in your blog!
