Vom Foto zum Siebdruck Teil II - How To Convert a Photo Into a Thermofax Screen Part II

Manchmal habe ich ein Foto ohne starken Kontraste, wie diese Roggenfeld. Möchte ich davon eine Siebvorlage erstellen, fahre ich genau gleich vor, wie im Teil I beschrieben wurde, also, Word Dokument, rechte Mausklick und Grafik formatieren. Bei der Bildsteuerung kann ich nicht nur die Farbe - schwarzweiss - sondern auch den Kontrast erhöhen. Wieviel? Das muss man probieren. In diesem Fall waren es 70%.

Time to time I would like to use a photo without strong contrasts. I use the same steps as last time - Elena kindly wrote the english version in her comment: Insert Picture into document; right click on photo to get short menu and select Format Picture; select Picture tab; under Image Control change Color from Automatic to Black and White. At Image Control I can also raise the contrast - this time I used 70 %. Usually 60-70 % works well.

Gelegentlich hat man Fotos mit genügend Kontrast, aber in schwarzweiss umgesetzt kommt das Bild wie ein Negativ vor.
Beispiel dieses Bambus-Foto. Hier waren die Blätter heller als ihre Schatten.

Sometimes I have a photo which, turned into black and white, gives me the impression of a negative picture. This happens because of the light is on the leaves and the background is dark.

Hier sieht man, dass die Vorlage wie ein Negativ wirkt. Deshalb setze ich das Foto zuerst noch in meinem Bildbearbeitungsprogramm ins Negativ und dieses Negativ kopiere ich in den Word Dokument herein. Ab hier sind die Schritte gleich wie vorher.

The black and white screen pattern gives the impression of being a negative. So I put my Photo in whatever picture editing program i have, turn it into a negative and this negative is the one I copy into the word document and proceed with it as written above.

Auch dazu braucht man keine teure Bildbearbeitungsprogramme. Wenn jemand ein wenig experimentiren möchte, empfehle ich IrfanView, gratis zu unterladen vom Internet.
Über die positive-negative Effekte werde ich nächtstes mal erzählen.

To make these steps is still no expensive Photoshop necessary. I use IrfanView, a free download, which allows me quite some picture editing work. How to use these positive-negative pictures in screenprinting, that will come as next.
